Editor's desk:
Jui Purohit,
Founder, Content Crafters.
Editor, Ink & Insight.
Hello readers!
I'm a published poet and a writer who collects words -just like we collected stamps in our childhood: too many yet not enough! Ergo, my first book of poetry is 'Words became Poetry'.
I blog, scribble poetry, weave stories, wrestling with sentences until they get tamed. My corner is where stories collide with caffeine. And I wear two hats here -as the founder of Content Crafters and the editor of this magazine, Ink & Insight.
When I first started Content Crafters, I had a simple wish —to create a space where words feel at home and writers feel seen. Watching this community grow and reading the incredible pieces you share has been the most heartwarming part of this journey.
As you read through the pages of this fourth edition, I hope you smile, pause, and maybe even pick up your pen again. Because Ink & Insight isn't just magazine, it's a reflection of each of you and your craft.

Prompt Title: "Describe your inner critic as a character you can fire".
Shashi Thakur -
The most formidable inner critic is my internal fear. It always warns me to restrict my wishes to be myself or fulfil my goals or dreams. I've had multiple interests since childhood like running, writing, painting, and singing. But I couldn't shine out in any of them, due to self-imposed beliefs. Self-help books provided by my close friends during college years motivated me a lot.
From no place to securing runners up position in running and singing contests, I finally said goodbye to my fear forvever.

Whispers of the frost
Silent, the world stood
While they carried you.
Underneath the earth’s crust,

Whistle an eerie song—

Dear Crafters,
We had posted 5 pictures as a prompt for you to write 5 different stories on.
We are delighted to announce the winner of this edition's blog/story challenge. Here are the 5 winning stories of our Crafter that stood out.
'Poornima Sivaraman'
1. A Farmer's Field -
Ramesh is a simple poor farmer outside our window. We watch him daily working hard with his wife Rani. Each day, when I wake up by 6 am in winter, I see both of them outside our window on the field. They pluck the unwanted grass and dump it on a basket . The sun is not up and the chill wind is blowing. I make my cup of hot tea and sit and watch them. Their earnest toil and efforts, make me wonder,” How much these poor farmers must be earning.?”
A loud noise takes me to the window and a tractor is mowing the grass. To watch all these closely in a city, is a pleasant experience. I click the photos of the tractor and send it to my grandkids and friends who have lands in their villages and farms.
One summer month, Ramesh and Rani found a crumpled paper on their field. At first, they were afraid to pick it up. Then they decided to pick it up and saw what was written on it. ‘ Lost Treasure’
“Who has written and what and where is the Treasure?”
Both sat on the field and were looking up in the sky to ask their parents as though to find an answer.
They took that paper and went home. The whole night, they could not sleep well.
The next day, they came with a plugh and started digging in a corner of the field, which was not used much. They felt something must be under the mud. They got tired as the scorching sun was up. Each day, they dug that place for an hour but could not find anything. They decided to feed the cows and went to a nearby cow-shed and fed the cows some rice and dal.
Prayed to God and to their ancestors and dugged that field for ten more days. They found a box and pulled it out. Praying to the God, and when they opened the box, their eyes were struck, to see a bronze statue of Devi Ma. They were happy to see the paper and not to throw it.
2. A Teacher's care -
Miss Leela was a teacher in a school in Kanpur. She was teaching English to Std. 6 children. It was a government-run school. The children came from a poor family and slightly better-off families. Leela was a kind and understanding teacher and all the students loved and respected her. She taught them the English language in a special way to make them understand quickly, and all the students enjoyed her class.
She took them to a nearby village to teach them the realities of the living conditions of the villagers. How a farmer works hard to provide us with rice and vegetables.
She conducted sports competitions and gave them gifts. The principal was very happy with the way she teaches and takes care of the children.
One day, she stayed back in school for some work. She had to complete some important work. She noticed a crumpled paper under a bench. She picked it up to check why it was under the bench and who had thrown it. She sat down calmly and opened the paper to see the scribbled words. She was trying to read what was written on that paper, “ Help me” or so.
She tried to identify the writing but it was difficult as the letters were not clear. She thought of carrying that crumpled paper home and trying to find that writer.
Was it a boy or a girl.?
She decided to calm down, relax and find out later.
After dinner, Leela took out the recent homework exercise books for correction. She watched each copy carefully to match the handwriting on that sheet of paper.
She was shocked to see whose writing it was. It was the writing of Seema, a quiet and timid girl. Leela wondered what must have
What happened to her, and why was she asking for help? She decided to talk to
Seema privately. The next day, Leela took Seema to the playground and asked her, “ Seema, tell me the truth.”
Seema started crying and after what she heard,
Leela was shocked to hear that Seema had been molested by the Maths Sir daily.
3. Sharp eyesight -
Mr Mohan was a watchman at a bank. He was a middle-aged man of fifty years, with twenty-five years of experience. He was very observant and did his job
attentively. Everyone in the bank and the regular customers in the bank, respected him. He greeted all with a smile and was helpful to all. If he doubted some person entering the bank, he warned the Manager with a miss call or the cashier.
The bank was on a busy street with a lot of roadside vendors, bustling with traffic.
Mohan enjoyed watching the people were happy.
One day, after the afternoon break, when a customer left, he saw a crumpled paper fallen near the door. He picked it up and was about to throw it into the dustbin, when he saw something sparkling inside. He opened it and saw a ring. He quickly folded and went to the Manager and showed him the ring. The Manager praised his honesty and kept it in his locker. The Manager told Mohan not to talk about this to anyone .
The Manager waited for that person to come in search of that valuable ring. He was wondering, ‘ How can anyone be so careless or was it a stolen ring? “
The Manager decided to check the CC TV camera recordings after all the staff left. When he looked into it, he saw that paper falling out of his pocket. He noticed that man. He called him to come to the bank.
“ What is it Sir, “ Is there anything serious?”
The Manager calmed him and asked him,”
Why are you looking tense and have you lost any valuable thing ?”
He said,” Yes Sir, yesterday I took out a special ring to give to my wife on our 25th Anniversary and wrapped it on a piece of paper.
The Manager showed him that ring and he was happy. The Manager asked him to give a written statement that he got the ring from the Manager and handed him the ring.
He called Mohan and told that person, “ Mohan found it and that person was rewarded some amount and thanked Mohan for his honesty.
4. A School Campus -
The Hill School in Nagpur was a big and popular school. It has a huge compound and four gates.
The school has a good name, the students were good in all the activities and earned a good name for the school.
The school organized an Inter School competition and most of the time, they brought awards.
The Principal was happy with the teachers and the students. The school was an inclusive school. Many special children were studying in this school.
Special Educators were there to take care of them.
All the students helped them when needed and were happy.
Once the school organized some cultural programmes and invited many distinguished guests.
All were welcomed by the students. And teachers.
The students were prepared to perform various special programs.
The watchman of Gate no. 1 saw a crumpled paper near the gate.
“ Who has thrown it here now when so many guests will be passing through this gate?”
He picked the paper and was about to throw it into the dustbin, he saw something scribbled on it.
When he read that, he was shocked to see ‘ Bomb in school’ . He called the Reception to inform about the bomb alert.
She was shocked to hear that and further informed the PA of the Principal. The Principal politely excused himself and saw that paper and called the police.
They arrived and tried to keep the situation under control by announcing, There is an emergency situation and we request everyone leave by Gate 2, 3 and 4.
All were worried and the teachers and senior students helped everyone leave the school premises.
The bomb squad searched the whole school but could not find anything. Maybe it was a false alarm.
They were wondering who.must have thrown that paper?
When they searched all the rooms and the washrooms, in one of the washrooms, a boy was shivering and crying.
They calmed him down, gave him water. They asked him, “ Why are you hiding here?”
He hesitantly said, “ I was scolded by my teacher and I wanted to punish him”
How sad. A child ‘s mind acts so negatively.
5. A Joint Family -
In a village, there was a powerful joint family. Mr Gopaldas was the head of the family, the grandfather, and his wife Kokila and four sons, their wives, and eight grandchildren.
Everyone lived happily. They were business people. They had two cloth stores and two grocery Shops.
There were two household helpers, Ramu and Laxmi, who were a couple and had been in that house since childhood. They were like family members.
Both went to a night school and were more intelligent than the children of the family.
The eldest grandson, Varun, was jealous of them and waited for an opportunity to teach them a lesson. But he did not show his resentment outside or talk to anyone about his feelings. He was a spoiled brat. The elders tried to make him understand that each one is different and have their own capacity to learn and work.
They all used to go on a picnic sometimes and enjoyed themselves. They cook together and play games.
All in the village wondered how this family lives as a happy big joint family.
It is because the grandfather
was a strict person and wanted a disciplined family.
All respected him and listened to him.
There was a huge well in the backyard and a lot of trees of all sorts of fruits.
A small field where some vegetables were grown.
Ramu and Laxmi managed the trees and the fields.
They kept the well water clean.
The eldest granddaughter's marriage was fixed. The preparation was in full mood. A lot of relatives from all over were around the house. All were happy.
The marriage was conducted in a grand way. She was seen off.
One day, a crumpled paper was found near the well.
Laxmi was missing from the house. All were in a fix as to where she vanished. Ramu cried loudly.
In the paper, ‘ Help’ was written. It was Laxmi's handwriting.
What must have happened, and where was she?
Was she abducted by anyone or was in trouble?
The police were involved but sadly after a lot of investigation, nothing could be found.
